Upgrading storage in Mac Air 13' 2017 model.
Would anything happen if I upgrade my mac storage SSD to a bigger size than recommended?
Sure you can install a larger SSD! Is 2 TB big enough?
The only rub is Apple uses their own blade drive design. While it looks similar to what Windows Laptops use Apple did their own thing and I do strongly recommend sticking with the either one of the Apple SSD's or either the OWC or Transcend custom SSD's which are direct plug-in replacement drives. I don't recommend using M.2 with a fangled adapter as these have issues with both the connections and some of the signals Apple has are just not carried into the M.2 SSD as they don't support it. While these do appear to work straight up any serious load over a bit of time as well as when they get near full tends to show their weakness.

If you mean. Larger than the available Apple ones you'll need to finesse things a bit- like they show here
