iFixit Battery not connecting - MacBook Pro 13" A1708 EMC 3164

I am attempting to replace the battery in my MacBook Pro - MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Function Keys, Late 2016-2017) Battery).

I carefully followed the MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Battery Replacement procedures but the battery is not "seen" by the computer.

I'm about to go through the installation procedures and try to determine why the battery is not connecting (does not show up in any program nor will it charge).

Can you recommend a troubleshooting procedure?
