battery and trackpad issues after some water

I read a lot of questions about spilled liquid on the Mac, but no case exactly like mine, I hope someone can give me some advice.

It all started when I accidentally touched the trackpad with water on my hands, and I even tried my best to prevent it from getting on the trackpad, apparently it did. At that moment the screen froze, I reacted by turning it off and turning it upside down.

After a couple of days I tried to turn it on with no luck and thought all was lost. So I took it to Apple Service and the guy there disconnected the battery and plugged the computer straight in and it turned on! But the touchpad didn't work :( (but at least the keyboard was fine).

The problem is that when I try to reset the computer it doesn't turn on again, so I have to do the same thing as the technician and disconnect the battery and put it in directly. So I don't know if this is because the battery life is over (it has 1200 cycles)? Or does this have to do with spilled water? I am concerned that not only the battery may be affected.

And about the trackpad it doesn't move but it clicks, so I don't know if the problem can be solved by changing the cable, or do I have to change the whole piece?

I'm trying to fix it myself because although I went to an Apple store to check the equipment, unfortunately the service and the 3 minute check that the "tech" guy did was not what I expected, I think he should have at least cleaned it and made a better assessment.
