Why did my battery drop from 60% to 3% after I dropped it?

I dropped my phone while it was powered off while I was heading to my locker after lunch, and I turned it on to check to make sure the screen wasn’t damaged.. Before I dropped it, it was at 60%. but after I turned it on, it was at 3%. I’m worried that I broke that I broke the battery.

This seems to have been a false alarm. I powered it on again and it was around 50%. Sorry for wasting everybody’s time.

Replace battery as you could of damaged some important components inside the battery unit
