Won't turn on, only works with cable.

Already tried hard and soft resetting it, with no luck. Light turns red when charging. Just won't turn on.

I have the exact same issue, I get the blue light for a millisecond then nothing! I replaced the battery yesterday but no joy. I’m getting the red light whilst charging but no joy

After so manieth time pulling it fully apart and putting it together again its now a pile of parts about to be thrown away.

It helped a few times to pull and put back the flat cable that goes to the button, but last time even that didn't work anymore.

If you still can get warranty on it, you better off chasing that.

I'm not sure if everyone's looks the same as mine inside, I purchased mine on ebay "refurbished" and it was dead on arrival. Same issue, one blue blink, wouldn't power on, charged it, charged it, charged it, tried all the troubleshooting steps to reset the hardware. Nothing worked.

Upon opening it up I noticed it was a pretty messy bundle of wires and a lot of the ends of the magnet wire that didn't look insulated (closer to the solder joint, silver wire not colored) were able to short out a lot of the spots on the board, as well as the pins on the ribbon connector. There was a wire that pressed right up against the ribbon connector when the headphones were closed back up.

I cut small pieces of kapton tape and covered all the parts of the board using tweezers, sliding them under any wires that ran over those areas. I covered the ribbon connector, etc etc. Just doing my best to make sure nothing could make contact. There was a small foam pad as well, I saw in someone else's post somewhere else that it helped to apply a little pressure against that part of the board and the foam had been pretty compressed, so I added a square of thin adhesive EVA foam I had from Michael's (it's 99 cents for a 8 1/2x11 sheet. Headphones worked really well after that. I have logged 600 hours, 25 mins in the Sony app with these headphones so far. Now my only complaint is the annoying creaking sound the hinges make. That will be my next fix.

Solved. Same symptoms: can charger, blink blue in millisecond with power button.

Open the left cap, apply pressure on flex cable, then power button works normal.

My solution is to use Mounting Tape (which comes with certain thickness) in order to apply pressure on the same spot.

I can't believe this worked.... I've been messing with the battery side (right speaker) for weeks.... Almost gave up and was looking into a new pair. You saved me here and I appreciate it. I just can't believe THIS was the answer...

Ok, so I also have this problem.

I've removed the left cushion, taken out the 4 screws that secure the backside and opened it carefully. I originally suspected waterdamage but couldn't find anything on the circuit board. Also removed the 2 screws holding the circuit board down and looked under it, still no water damage to be found.

After this I tried to disconnect the button ribbon cable but ultimately didn't proceed as I didn't know how to disconnect it without damaging the connector.

Not sure how to proceed I tried a Hail Mary power button press and to my surprise… it turned on. Not sure what I did exactly I just closed it and enjoyed my working headphones again.

This was all yesterday. Today I came back from work, tried to power up the headphones, and nothing. Just noticed a faint blue light for a millisec. Opened it back up and tried moving cables etc. while pressing the power button and it turned on while applying pressure to the button ribbon connector. After closing it back up I'm able to power it up and down without problems.

Still not sure what is wrong and not hopeful it will still turn on tomorrow but at least I got a lead.

Edit: Turning it off and leaving it for 15 minutes causes it to return to the broken state. After this it needs to be opened up and pressure applied to the button flex connector. Not sure what's wrong still. Will try to remove the circuit board completely next.

Any updates? I had luck pressing down the adhesive tape holding down the cable, but now it makes a rattling noise.

Edit: also i found out that heating up the left earcup for some reason fixes the issue of not turning on temporarily

I did manage to get this to work by cutting down the tape already in the headphones then using this tape to wrap up the exposed wiring where the solder was exposed. since then it appears to be working ok but sorry I don't particularly want to take them to bits again take photos. If anyone wants me to try it with theirs could do but no promises :)
