I was replacing the side rails on my Switch when this tiny gray line on the connector (circled in the image above) came off. Now the left joycon doesn’t work at all and the right one only has certain options available (ex: can press A to open game, but not press A to make a selection). Do I need to replace the entire motherboard?

Looking at the photo, it appears that the FPC connector tab is missing. You can search for a replacement online, and if you are proficient at microsoldering you can change it yourself. Otherwise you could have a repair shop solder it on for you.
