Replaced display, but home button is physically stuck

I recently purchased and installed a new display for an iPhone 3gs. Was able to install it with no problems and it worked great. But after about a week my home button became stuck. Took it a part, checked for anything that might be causing it to stick but there isn't anything wrong that i can see. It's usuable, barely, I have to press rather hard. The home button feels depressed, but it doesn't "pop" back up.

Hello,

Some possible solutions:

1) The home button is not lined up within the frame. The home button has little wings coming off both sides, that need to sit into grooves.

2) If that isn't the problem, then the home button itself is damaged. It is a mechanical switch, and the actuator on the back of the home button is likely damaged.

Hope this helps,

Also there is a silver metal plate beneath the Home Button Flex Pad, that must be present and centered below the Pad. If plate is not in correct position, Home Button is very unreliable.
