Screen won’t work after replacement

I just replaced my screen after I shattered the entire lower half. My home button was destroyed in the process or when I broke the screen, not really sure. Well everything is put back together now and the screen won’t work. I know it’s “on” because when I plug it in it gives me the charging sound effect. I’m not really sure what I can do here. I can’t do a hard reset or even turn it off the regular way. It’s a huge bummer because other than the screen it was in perfect condition for almost 6 years old.

If anyone has any tips or ideas I would be greatly appreciative.

You could have knocked components off around the connector or blown a backlight filter. Shine a light on the screen and see if you can see the image.

More than likely the backlight filter. It's pretty common with screen replacements especially if you don't disconnect the battery prior to connecting and disconnecting the screen.

I did disconnect the battery and I can’t shine a light to it and see the screen. I’m going to try some of Steve’s suggestions and see how that goes.

It maybe just needs a reset, home buttons can be replaced they will just operate at a home button without finger print feature, I suggest replacing home button then you can reset it easily.

if that does not fix then next step is to look at hardware make sure all plugs are not damaged and plugged in correctly and flex cables of new screen are not damaged.

if still not joy it could be faulty screen try another , did your old screen light up try it and see if it still lights up.

next step is logic board damage maybe back light this will require micro soldering to fix.
