Can I use the SSD from a Mid2015 MacBook Pro in my Early2015 Air?

My wife has an early 2015 MacBook Air.

I have a mid 2015 Retina MacBook Pro with dual GPU that has just given up the ghost. Can I use the pro’s SSD in the Air?

looking at ifixit’s instructions for replacing the SSD in both computers, they look physically different, but I think the connection and the dimensions are the same.

advice?

Give this a read The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs Jump down the Generation 4 section for the details.

Bottomline depending on which SSD you have it may not fit.

Thanks very much, Dan, for the link to that guide.

It looks like the 1TB drive from my MacBook Pro isn’t going to fit in my wife’s MacBook Air.

BUT - I bought another used mid2015 MacBook Pro off ebay which has a 512GB drive. I think I’ll be able to put the 1TB drive in that second Pro, and give the Pro’s 512GB drive to the Air.

It should all work out great!
