Why can I not deconstruct the catchment tank for ink myself?

Dear repair experts,

a little than 2 years ago I bought a printer Canon iP pixma 3600. The clerk didn't tell me that there was a catchment tank for ink. This tank is now full, just as the 2 year of guarantee is finished. How can I repair it myself and use it again? Any ideas?
