Screen has went black and I can't even see the menu display

I have a Phillips model 24pfl3603. My screen is black. I can't see the menu options at all. I was able to see the outlines of characters moving a little at first but now it's gone. The only thing I can barely see is the logo when I first power on. Sound is perfect. I've checked all connections. Unplugged for 10 mins. I've even changed outlets… just incase. I thought I had sat on the remote and somehow lowered brightness but if that were the case I would still be able to see the menu. What else can I do? Or is it time for a new TV?
