Pc won't start up at all

Today I tried to start up my pc only to find that nothing happened at all. I plugged it into multiple different power outlets and it still didn't work. I opened the system up and found that my top hard drive had fallen out of place one one side and was resting on top of my other one, but apart from that everything inside the system looks fine. Does this mean that my power supply isn't working since my PC doesn't do anything at all when I press the power button?

Where to start?

Basic systems diagnostics:

Make sure the "power button" on the back of your computer on the PSU is set to ON and test.
Make sure your "power start" button on the case is connected to your motherboard and test.
If these two steps don't work, disconnect internal power from everything except the motherboard. (So, HDDs, CD, Lighting etc are disconnected)
Insure only the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and video (onboard if it has it) are connected. Remove any “external” cards (network cards, video card, etc) as we only want the machine to power up first.
Repeat steps 1 and 2. If the machine powers on, reconnect one component at a time to see if any of them are causing the issue.
If it doesn’t power on, few options remain:
a. The PSU is done.

b. The motherboard is done.

If the unit powers on but doesn’t beep, CPU needs reseating. If it beeps, means RAM may need reseating or is damaged or something else on the motherboard is gone bad. However, if the PSU never powers on, it’s most likely the PSU.

PSU = Power Supply Unit (in case you didn’t know)
