Force touch gasket connector broke?

Hi. I was going through the replacement of a battery on the Apple Watch. Once I got to replacing the force touch gasket as I went to connect this to the phone I noticed the right hand side of it wasn’t connect (please see picture). I presume if I continue with the fix it won’t work now. Is this a faulty part or do I need to reorder this component?
