Hi,

Can you “see” the WiFi networks and just not connect to them or aren’t there any being shown as available when you know that there are some there?

If none are being shown:

a). Have you tried pressing F8 (or Fn + F8) to ensure that the WiFi is on?

b). Have you checked the status of the WLAN adapter in Device Manager?

If Win 10, press the Win key + x key and click on Device Manager in the menu list that shows. When it opens scroll down to Network Adapters.

If there is a red cross against the WLAN network adapter entry, right click on the device entry and select enable and check if the WiFi now works.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the WLAN network adapter entry, right click on the device entry and click on Update drivers and follow the prompts. You will need to be online to do this however, so unless you have a working Ethernet connection connected to the laptop you will have to manually install them. Here’s a link to the Wireless and BT drivers for the laptop. (click on Clear all filters to see the drivers)

If there are no crosses or exclamation marks next to the WLAN entry then right click on the entry > Properties > General tab and check in the Device status box that it shows that “This device is working properly”.

If you can ”see” the WiFi networks:

Have you tried running the Troubleshooter in Settings to see if this resolves the problem?

If Win 10 go to Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Internet Connections > Run the Troubleshooter. You can also run the Network Adapter troubleshooter from here as well.

Hopefully a start
