MBP won't boot up after replacing screen assembly

Procedure works but battery won’t charge and macbook pro won’t boot up after replacing screen assembly. The display works as it shows the battery low plug it in and even beeps and changes to charging icon. Tried SMC reset but I am unable to charge the battery or boot. Anybody know what I did wrong or how to fix this? I even re-seated the power data cable and disconnected and reconnected the power to make sure I did it right. Any help would be appreciated. I know this was working before the install as I hooked t up to power and a monitor before starting the replacement.
