I tripped over my headphones cable now its hard to hear

I tripped over my headphones cable now its hard to hear, the cable connected to the front audio panel got pulled real quick.

Now it only works when the cable pulled to a specific angle or twisting the audio jack.

I twist it to a certain angle and audio is back to normal or pull the cable to a certain angle.

(Pushing it agains the case also fixes it but doesn’t stay like that)

Is this fixable ? it doesn’t seem to be a serious issue.

Hi @sarravo ,

What is the make and model number of the desktop PC or if it is a custom build what is the make and model number of the PC case?

Asking about the case as some have the front audio connections integrated in the case and some are on a removable panel.

@jayeff the case seems to be a collection of parts, its an old office computer with few oem parts (probably gpu and motherboard).

Brand of the case is "frisby" I'll assume its a chinnese case rebranded.

The audio jack place is like a slot and has 2 usb ports+reset button it feels like you can pop it off and replace it. (it maybe their design though but its not an oem at the end.)

@sarravo this seems to happen to be just about every other day. Anyhow, I have never ruined the audio jack with that. What I have ruined, is the wires in the headphones as well as the headphone jack. Try another set of headphones since I am not convinced that this is an issue on the desktop. This sounds more like an issue with the wiring on the headphone jack.

Yes, it was the wiring I tried fixing it but I think you'll need to do some soldering to fix that up which is not an accessible option by everyone.
