Strange inverted colour vertical lines across screen?

I have a feeling I already know the answer here, but thought a second opinion wouldn’t hurt.

After replacing the battery for my surface book and putting everything back together, I was greeted by a screen consisting of inverted colours and thin vertical lines. I can see things changing on the screen as different programs load etc. and I’ve tested with a different monitor to ensure it wasn’t a video issue. Even the touch appears to be working fine as I can see the touch input on the second monitor when I touch the screen. See image of the problem.

I’m about 90% certain I might have damaged the screen during removal but to potentially save my wallet, could anything else be causing this? Could this be an issue with damage to the flex cable to the screen?

Thanks.

What was your eventual resolution. Have the exact same thing. So mad.

Ah turns out it was damage to the screen, likely caused by pressure when I was using my pry tool when the glue wasn't soft enough. was working fine with a screen replacement, all the cables etc. from the original worked fine. An expensive issue sadly, I know better next time I need to do maintenance.

@drikanyx yep. Looks like a damaged LCD screen. Sorry but looks like you’ll need a replacement. Of course you made sure that all wires are properly connected no bend pins and so on.
