Why does my radio pop open randomly?

I purchased a 2008 Honda CR-V with 100k miles on it in May. There were no issues with the car until about August, when about once every one to three weeks, I’d arrive at my car to find the radio had popped open by itself. On rare occasions when it happens overnight, and remains open for several hours, it drains the car battery to the point where it requires a jump.

There is absolutely zero useful information about this online. Everyone ranging from auto brokers to car repair shops to Honda reps themselves have never encountered an issue like this before. Recently I learned that it may be the radio itself and that it might need a replacement, which is feasible, but I’m wondering if this could also be some internal problems with the car.
