New battery not recognised in MacBook Pro 13(early 2015)
Hello All
I’ve recently purchased and fitted a “new” battery bought from iFixit. Basically, my Mac doesn’t recognise the battery, so either the battery is faulty or there is some setting I need to change? As iFixit don’t offer support, I’m hoping I can get a solution here, before contacting my credit card provider for a refund. iFixit really shouldn’t offer a “solution” if the Apple software and hardware environment doesn’t support it.
It’s a Macbook Pro A1502 13” Retina (Early2015). What I’ve done so far:
- Disconnected and reconnected the battery (This did resolve a non-responsive keyboard and trackpad).
- Reset SMC,3 times
- Run First Aid on Disk Utility
Other observation/issues:
- Unit is powered with mains power cable when this is removed the unit switched off.
- The charger shows amber light.
- The unit runs VERY slowly
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not available as options. Luckily I’m able to plug in an ethernet connector
- There is no battery indicator on the desktop.
Any insights or suggestion would be great.
Thanks
Symon

@sdm72 - Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片
Having something more tangible will get you working quicker! Having this will tell me whats happening.
As far as iFixit They fully support their products. I've bought a fair amount of tools and parts from them.
Batteries are tricky! As you could have gotten a bad one. IF thats the case here you should be able to get one quite fast from them.

Thanks Dan.
Please see an update on the state of play.
observations / issues:
Unit is powered by Magsafe adaptor that displays the amber light, which it also does when the battery is disconnected.
The unit runs VERY slowly indeed.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not available as options, however will connect to ethernet with USB adaptor
There is no battery indicator on the desktop.
The Sysinfo shows zero’s or no entries.
I had downloaded two battery programs( Coconut and Battery Health from App store) ( More than once) however they will not start. The programs do work as I’ve tested on my other MAC. All other programs work albeit very slowly.

@sdm72 - "Unit is powered by Magsafe adaptor that displays the amber light, ''which it also does when the battery is disconnected."' That tells me your magSafe charger is bad! As it shouldn't be lit if disconnected!
Your system is slow as its in CPU Safe Mode as SMC is detecting a major defect! We need to resolve the battery issue first to then look deeper into this.
At this point I think you have a bad battery here as well. CoconutBattery should load up, I've never seen it fail me unless ... you are running an old version of macOS that the version of CoconutBattery is not designed to run on.
