makes the ice but is frozen to the metal ice form

There appears to be some sort of heater tube under the metal ice tray. My ice maker makes the ice but is frozen to the metal ice form and the rotating arm that pushes the ice out gets jammed against the ice frozen to the metal ice form. A slight bit of heat against the underside of the metal ice form melts the ice slightly loosening the ice from the metal form and allows the rotating arm to push the ice from the form. I believe that there is something wrong with the heating element or the element temp control not allowing the heater element to come on and loosen the ice from the metal ice form. I am currently looking for a service manual with a wiring diagram to see what is connected to what.

be careful. if its the upper left side ice maker i believe the heater is imbedded in the tray. the u-tube below it is part of the evaporator IOW refrigerant coil. theres a way to defrost the ice tray so any ice on that coil melts away then the i/m slides down and out. don't pry on that loop with a metal object so as to not puncture it. that will add major $$$ to your repair. search error codes or diagnostics and you'll find the process to defrost i/m without shutting down the whole fridge whitch btw is another option

Have you solved the problem? Does LadyTechs solution help? Because I'm looking for a solution to a similar problem. Some user manuals on https://www.icemakermanuals.com/ suggest the same for most ice makers, but I still had no luck :(

David, that is the heating element under the ice mold. It heats the ice mold so the ice warms enough to slide out of the ice tray. There is also a thermostat in this I/M head that cycles the element on and off. You can buy most i/M parts separately and rebuild it with only the parts needed.
