Is there a fix for this display problem: vertical lines?
Hi, I've got this on my iMac, but two external displays are running fine:
I will have this open for an SSD repair, is there anything I can order or check on to fix this display? thx!!!!
@herojig that looks like a TAB error. The thin ribbon cables that enter the LCD panel from the LCD driver board have somehow lost contact. Those are bonded in a special manner. You can try and exert some pressure on the ribbon that enters the panel where those lines are and see if that removes/changes those to verify. If so, you can try to use some good adhesive tape and tape them down with some tension. If it works it is only a temporary fix. A permanent fix would be a replacement screen or having your send off for repair (not cheap at all)

Thx oldturkey, I will try that when my iFixit SSD kit arrives. I really want to ditch the apple screen and somehow rehouse every thing, but can't seem to find any tut on how to do THAT. Maybe it's impossible.,. dunno, but aLL I need are the guts of this thing to drive the two external monitors that I have on a stand.
