Replaced Screen, phone powers on and responds to touch, no display

I recently decided to try and fix my iphone 8 screen as the old one had many static type lines running through it. I went through the exact installation steps and took the necessary steps. However, once I reassembled the device the screen remained black. The screen does seem to respond to touch, as I unlocked it from blindly typing in my pin and I am able to use siri to carry out basic commands. I did try to put the original screen back on and the phone showed the apple logo for a few seconds when I switched back to it, but then once again stopped displaying after booting into the spring board. I honestly do not know where to turn at this point and any information or advice would be much appreciated.

If the screen responds to touch it is more likely a backlight problem. Shine a torch on the screen and see if you can make out an image. If you can there is most likely a faulty component on the logic board backlight circuit which would require microsoldering to repair.

This shouldn’t have occurred if you disconnected the battery before doing the screen replacement so I wouldn’t rule out a faulty screen that has ended up damaging one of the backlight components on the logic board.

I tried using a flash light but still can not make out anything at all. This is so frustrating lol luckily I ordered a pixel 4a to replace it but would have still loved to got this one back working.
