Smashed my ipad in a car door. Nobody will touch it. Can it be fixed?

Our brand new Ipad was accidentally shut in a car door which smashed the glass, damaged the LCD and bent the lower chassis.

None of the repair companies will touch it so it's either in the bin or I can see if there is any chance it still works.

I have removed the glass and LCD and managed to bend the frame back so it almost looks normal. It looks like the battery has been slightly bent so am presuming that that will need replacing?

Question is, is there anyway to check to see if the battery is working alright without the LCD?

I am prepared to blow cash on a new battery and LCD/Screen just to see if I can get it working but wanted to know if there are any battery checks so if it is still good I only need to buy the screen to see if I can get it working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom Irvin I don't think a slightly bend battery is going to be the issue. You checked the logic board for any damage etc.? Depending on your location I'd contact professionals like @refectio or others on this list https://www.ifixit.com/Business for a repair estimate

Do you have a Mac? If so I’d try plugging it (while on) into the Mac, opening QuickTime, File > New Movie Recording…, then clicking on the arrow next to the record icon. You should find your iPad and it will show what the tablet is supposed to be displaying. It should work without the LCD…

I bought a cheap “dead” iPhone 5 for parts once, only for me to try this trick and to realize all that’s wrong with it was the LCD. I still salvaged it for parts though
