My MacBook's display blacked out suddenly. What to do?

My MacBook was on a table playing some music from Spotiy when It's screen suddenly became black.

Initially I thought it has gone to sleep but when I tried to turn it back on by pressing some keys and using the trackpad it didn't wake up.

I the keyboard backlight was on and the music was still playing and stopping when I pressed the space bar.

So I searched online and found a test of backlight. I turned on my phone's flashlight and pointed it to the translucent Apple logo and I could see central part of the screen light up slightly.

it is a backlight problem. Backlight is probably not getting power. But why?

There's no Apple service centres nearby and I don't have Apple Care+. If anyone can help I'll be thankful for him/her.

Usually these faults are caused by liquid damage which may require micro-soldering to fix.

If it is a no backlight fault there should still be a distinguishable image but very dim around where the apple logo is on the screen.

If you can’t see it try holding the power button for about 5-10 seconds to force turn it off and turn it on again and repeat the flashlight test. If no apple logo / sign in / loading bar is shown then there is a no-image fault. Probably not the screen but something to do with the display circuitry on the logic board.

I tried this flashlight test and yes I'm seeing the Apple logo and the sign in and then my desktop too.

I'm sure that the backlight is not getting power.

Do you've an idea why did this happen? Or how can it be repaired? What will be the cost?

@kunalmishra Ok that confirms that is a no backlight fault.

This occurs 99% of the time due to liquid damage.

What's very common is that the backlight driver chip under the logic board gets liquid damaged which stops the chip from working and that chip would need to be replaced via micro-soldering and any other corroded components as well.

There may be other sections of the board that also has some liquid damage / corrosion. The cost of these repairs generally start from around $200 as an estimate.
