My iMac won't start? Black screen
Anyone having any tips why my iMac won't start? When I press power on the startup check is running and the CD ROM makes noise, when it continues the computer just shutting down and tries to boot one more time. This goes forever. The screen is black the whole process. Can it be hard drive failure? I've opened it up, but can't see any failure on mobo. Any tips appreciated :)

Let's give this a try: Restart your system and this time press and hold the T key to enter into Target Disk Mode.
Reference: Mac startup key combinations Do you see either a FireWire or Thunderbolt Icon on your screen?

Thank you for reply. The screen doesn't turn on at all so I can't use the keyboard or mouse. The CD ROM makes noise, then it shuts down again.

Did you really give it a try as I outlined?
You may need a USB keyboard to get it to work.

I tried with the keyboard that comes with iMac. Connected via lightning cable to the USB port

I've uploaded a video on YouTube. https://youtu.be/ieMaSefDHwc
The sound might be a bit low
