I believe that you are looking at the adjustment for the laser voltage and unless you get a Disk Read Error, they will not work for you. I would check on the power supply to the drive, all the cable connections and the spindle motor itself and see if that is where your error originates. I have some service manual that you can download from here as well as an very informative repair guide right here Hope this helps and good luck to you.
