Briggs & Stratton 5hp Crankshaft End Play

I’ve removed the engine (124602 0111 01) 5hp OHV 4 stroke, and before I remove the sump, I notice substantial endplay movement on the crankshaft. I don’t have the ability to measure it, but it’s enough to make a substantial click when moving the shaft from side to side..

I saw reference to shims in searches, but cant find anything in the B&S repair manuals. Are shims available to reduce endplay, and where do they go? Will new oil seals and crankshaft bearings or bushing kit help to reduce the slop?
