Oven won't light. Pilot is lit but no fire

I have an old Five Star 48” gas oven. We bought used and switched the unit from Natural gas to LP. When I did that the oven would not light. Pilot is lit but seems that the safety valve won’t open the main gas supply. Thoughts?
