display goes dark computer is on
This has just started happening. Display starts flickering, then goes completely dark. Laptop is still on. Have no idea why or how to bring it back to life. Not able to shut down laptop. Using AC adaptor. HELP

Defective CCFL backlight may have the following symptoms: Screen flashes on red/pink and goes off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of its life.
Hold a flashlight at an angle to the screen to see if can can still see the desktop, if so, it's an inverter problem. Let us know and we can get you to the correct guide.
