Recovering pictures from iPhone 8 that is in recover mode

My sister’s iphone got in a boot loop the other day. I tried hooking it up to itunes and then updating the software in the hope that it would fix the problem.However in the middle of the loading bar on the iphone screen itunes would come up with an error saying “an unknown error occured the iphone could not be updated”. I tried it several times. Now a week later it doesn’t even want to update now it goes straight to the reset option.

Unfortunately, my sister forgot to back up this iphone. She has over 2000 photos on this iphone from a very memorable trip and it would be a real loss if she lost the pictures. Is there any way to recover these pictures?
