My iPhone did not turn on after a charge. Unable to force restart.
Hi there,
I was hoping to get some advice but I would like to explain how the scenario played out in case it would help in the troubleshooting of my issue.
- I turned on my wireless hot spot.
- I plugged in my phone to charge. (Using my original Apple adapter and cable).
- I left my phone for about 20 minutes without touching it then realized it was had shut itself down and didn’t boot up again.
- Tried force restarting without any success and the phone refused to take any charge from multiple cables.
- I tried using my wireless charger to charge the phone and it did receive charge based on charger.
- The phone still did not turn on after some time charging wirelessly.
- I sent my phone for a repair at my local phone shop, the technician mentioned that I had a busted charging IC. He replaced it and the phone turned back on again.
- Once I received my phone back, I only charged it wirelessly thinking that my power adapter was at fault but then the phone began to shutdown by itself. It did not shutoff while the cable was plugged in or while on my wireless charger.
- After about 3 shutdows a day, I backed up my phone on my computer and noticed it wasn’t receiving any charge from my attached cable. It still was able to transfer information allowing for a successful backup. (Wireless charging was still able to charge my phone).
- I returned the phone back to my local shop for another look. I have yet to receive any updates but I have a feeling the technician would not be able to solve my problem.
I was thinking that I would try to fix this issue myself with some help from the community as I am not too sure where to start and the replacement parts I may need to try and fix this issue.
Thanks so much for reading my question.
Regards
Jeremy
