Replaced LED backlights and one side still dark

We spent 4 hours yesterday replacing the backlights on our Vizio E70-E3 tv. It was originally experiencing dark areas on both sides. When we plugged it back in, after replacing the led strips, one side was completely fixed and the other was now completely dark. It looks like the light/dark is split completely down the middle. The dark side is also having color issues. Before we take this thing apart again, is there something that we obviously did incorrect or is there something we need to reset?
