The display is mainly white (looks like old TV static noise)
My macbook will boot up, but the display is virtually unreadable because it is mainly white static.

Hook it up to an external monitor and see if the problem persists. Also does moving the screen change anything?

Almost certain that is onboard video RAM. Any recalls etc.. on that?
ABC - The A1260 & the A1226 both have the 8600 Nvidia GPU, but I haven't seen this symptom before so let's see if it's on the external before getting hopes up.
