My 3DS turns on, makes a pop sound, then turns off.
I was casually playing a game when my 3ds randomly shut off. I tried to turn it back on but it turned itself off after 3 seconds and made a “Pop” sound from one of the speakers.

I read online that the speaker flex cable is fed through the hinge, and repeatedly opening and closing it may break it. If you close your 3ds so you can barely see the screen you may be able to turn it on and see a display. (didn’t work like that for me.) They say to just replace the Speaker Flex Cable. It is what makes the popping noise, because it is soldered to the speakers, and it plugs into the top screen, which is why it works this way.
