Hi,

What is the model number of the TV?

Do you still have sound when the TV is on but there is no picture?

It may be that there is a LED backlight problem with the TV. Although it could be a different cause that is the problem.

Try the following:

Turn off the TV (if on) and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove the back cover from the TV.

Be safety aware when the back cover is removed from the TV and also if you go to test for the voltages as there is exposed lethal AC voltage on the power board especially near to where you will be testing.

Disconnect the cable that is between the power board and the mainboard.

Reconnect the TV power cord to the wall outlet

Turn on the TV.

The TV LED backlights should come on and stay on. There will be no picture because the mainboard is disconnected.

Turn off the TV and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before deciding what to do next

If the backlights do not come on then you have either a power board problem or a LED strip array problem. Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the LED connector cable connection point on the power board. If it measures >220VDC then the problem is in the LED array. If it measures <30VDC then the problem is in the power board. Here’s a video that shows how to test the LEDs in a TV. It is made easier if you have a LED tester - example only although it can be done without one (see video)

If the backlights come on then most likely you have a mainboard problem.
