HP Chromebook x360 won't sleep

I have a HP Chromebook x360 11-ae030nr. My daughter spilled water on the keyboard and didn't tell us until the next day. I dried it out as best I could and then it was having power issues. I took the keyboard apart and cleaned off the power ribbon that connects to the power circuit by the button and it worked great. Now it will not go to sleep when you shut the lid. it will not go to sleep even with the shortcut buttons also. Does anyone know what circuit senses the lid closure and lets it go to sleep? I think the sensor has corrosion but I don't know where it is.
