Nikon D3500 will not take photos

Hello,

I just bought the Nikon D3500. I charged the battery overnight and was trying to mess around a bit with my camera today, however, it will not take pictures. I was in a well-lit room had my lens set to 35mm at F4.5 and Shutter Speed at 1/150. ISO, on the other hand, spikes up to 25600 if I go to shatter speeds faster than 1/2. The camera will focus if I half-press the shutter. However, 1 of 3 things can happen. 1 it will beep and nothing will happen when I fully press the shutter button. 2 it will beep, I will press the shutter button and the mirror will pop up but then it will ask me to press it again and I do so, then the mirror will come back down. 3 the display will say the subject is too dark even with the flash on. Also, I have noticed that not all the settings are available for me in the menu options. When I try to click on certain settings it will say “This feature is not available in the current mode.” I was trying to reset the camera to factory default, that option is not available. I don’t know if there is any other way. I tried googling it but from what I found out it’s either keys aren’t in the same area or that button doesn’t exist.
