What parts do I need to make my MacBook run like new?
I know I need to replace the battery, but should I upgrade my RAM or anything else to make this laptop run like new?
This machine is a real keeper and well worth upgrading.
To get it to run better than new:
MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable
Replaced the hard drive/IR cable with a new one and add damage protection
MacBook Pro 13" Unibody 中期2012 硬盘线缆替换
install a backward compatible SSD like the Samsung 860 EVO or QVO 1TB or 500 GB
the Crucial drive will also work
max the RAM out at 16 GB
MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Memory Maxxer RAM Upgrade Kit

Wow, thank you so much! I thought I'd have to buy a new laptop from Apple. Good to know that I can make this run way better!
This is the last of the really repairable, upgradable MacBook pros and was produced through 2016 because of demand, so it will probably continue to even be supported by Apple (but I wouldn't count on it). The upgrades really kick this machine up so they are still very competitive with the newer models. They are also very repairable and a broken display won't break the bank like a retina will.
@mayer I appreciate all the help, I’m actually just now getting around to upgrading with these parts, but I noticed something peculiar.
Around the airport/Bluetooth cable there’s some corrosion that I know nothing about. Should I replace it?
