Dropped in a lake for about 10 minutes

I dropped the iphone in the lake for about 10 minutes before I was able to find it with a net. It was warm and as it was on when I dropped it, my first thought was turn it off. I may have infact turned it on because it was warm at first and then within a few minutes it got really HOT. The next day was about 95 degrees so I put it in a container of rice and left it in my truck hoping that the heat would completely void it of any remaining water. After 5 hrs I attempted to turn it on. Nothing at all happens. Is this a lost cause and I need to cry then buy another? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is 7:15 on 11 aug 11, I am at work and do not have access to my personal email. If you are responding soon please email me at eric.o.herman@hii-nns.com

unfortunately, you might have caused more damage then you thought. 5 hours is not enought time. put it back in the rice for at least 2 days. then you might have to disassemble it and clean some of the boards as outlined in this guide

I definitely would go with the guide. Be careful with the rice, it will swell up and can lodge in the head phone jack and the dock connector and can be a pain to remove. Disassemble it and follow the above guide.

Changing the rice at least once a day also helps to ensure they don't swell up too much. then make sure you do a good cleaning as per the guide.
