The film advance lever is stuck on my A5
I have a Minolta A5 and the film lever only works some of the time. It gets stuck about 1/2 an inch out.
Any quick/easy solutions?
First, don’t force things!
The film advance lever has two functions advancing the film but also cocking the shutter. These older cameras often encountered oil on the shutter and diaphragm blades gumming the whole mess!
Take a look at this YouTube Fix Old Cameras: Vario Shutter Quick Flush Cleaning. See if your shutter is jammed up note the discoloring on the blades.
If the lever is free wheeling then the clutch is worn or the simple fact the lubricants have driven out so the rack which $!^&* the shutter is jamming up.
General info: Minolta A5
