When pulling up display, the home button is not staying with the displ

iPhone 6s. While pulling up on the display, the home button is NOT staying with the display but looks like it attached to a cable that connects to inside the phone. Is the home button supposed to come up and stay with the display/screen or should I disconnect it from the dispalay and it stays inside the phone???
