Is the FaceID Camera system hardware more powerful?

Back before the iPhone 11 came out, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the FaceID camera system hardware would be more powerful, with the flood illuminator VCSEL having more output power.

Does anyone know if this ended up being the case, or was it just the same hardware from previous models with a wider angle?

I thought someone might have found the answer out after doing a tare down.
