My PC is not booting after I put a PS3 hard drive in it.
My PC was working perfectly until I plugged a PS3 hard drive in it with a SATA 3 cable. Now it turns on but the monitor doesnt show anything. I turned it off and removed the PS3 hard drive and it still won’t display anything.
Did you install an OS onto the drive if you took out your original drive?

Hi,
What is the make and model number of the PC?
Can you get into BIOS on the PC?
If so does it show that it has detected any HDDs at all?

@danj no! I simply took the HDD straight from the PS3 into the PC.

@jayeff how can I get into the BIOS if I can't see the POST screen?

Hi,
If you don't get the mobo makers "splash screen" on startup, how far into POST does the PC go?
Do you get the fans turning on and lights on the keyboard or any error beeps (if your mobo has a speaker attached)?
With most PCs you either press F2 or Del to enter BIOS after the PC has started and before it boots into the OS.
As it doesn't require OS for video drivers etc you should be able to see the BIOS menu screen.
Try disconnecting all HDDs and restart and check if you can get into BIOS. The PC should fail with "no OS found" (or similar) message on the screen
If the screen doesn't come on (no backlight either?) then you have a motherboard or power problem.
You didn't plug the PS3 HDD into the PC when it was powered on did you?
What is the make and model number of the PC or motherboard if custom build?
