How do I put the stock thumb grip back on?

Hi, the thumb grip on my right joy con stick has come loose and when I push it back on, all of the little nubs that hold it in place on the underside of the grip won’t go back in their respective holes. Does anyone know how to cleanly put the stock thumb grips back on?
