2012 Mac Pro will turn on and shut down halfway through bootup

I have a 2012 Mac Pro that was working fine two days ago, it randomly shut off on me and when I tried booting it back up it did nothing, I waited a few hours with it unplugged and it turned back on, but then shut off halfway through bootup.

im wondering what type of a issue this could be I noticed the diagnostic lights but there not much help the amber light for power comes on when I press the button, and the two red lights blink when I plug the cord in.

any help is greatly appreciated!

side note I have a bunch of first gen Mac pros and a g5 for parts but a lot of the stuff seems different and incompatible

On this model series the first thing that fails is the video card, next the power supply.

I have tried turning it on without the graphics card and still nothing turns on.... I planned on replacing the gpu anyways, I may order a new power supply I suppose and see if that fixes it, the system seems to be in really good shape so it’s asinine that this is randomly happening

It will only turn on if it’s been unplugged for a few hours then shuts off when halfway booted

In my experience a power supply will gradually fail causeing increasingly shorter periods of random shutdowns.

So I should start off with replacing the power supply and then go from there? I can use any power supply from any 09-12 Mac Pro correct?
