internal speakers don‘t work after using external speakers

after I had connected my Macbook Pro to a network audio receiver via my private wlan, the internal speakers of the Macbook don‘t show up anymore under the speakers symbol on the topline next to the clock.

Even if it‘s not connected to the network, there doesn‘t come any sound out of it.

Just if I restart the laptop I hear the short Apple Orchester sound. & after that, it stays quiet.

So the speakers do work & the problem seems to be located somewhere else.

Does anybody know what the problem is?

I would start off trying SMC reset How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac.

Next I would check the headphone connector. Plug in a set of headphones are you able to hear your music? If you do they the headphone jack may have a problem as it has a set of switches which can be dirty or damaged. Do you see a red light looking in? Or have a problem inserting the plug?

Next I would check my Sound preferences do you see your internal speakers listed now?

Next you’ll need to check your Bluetooth settings if you have a Bluetooth enabled headphones or speaker selected.

Lastly, you’ll want to check your Airplay output if its set to your AppleTV or other AirPlay target device.
