Hy ,

really cool that you anwsered so fast. Well the battery is ok as i can measure Volts and Ohms and other stuff. Just the buzzer doesnt work. I will change the fuses next and let you know if it works. Thanks so far.

Regards, Thomas

With pleasure, tell us what happens after the fuse is replaced.

I know this is late, but there is a small disk that goes behind everything. You have to get a replacement for it. If everything works fine minus the noise for the continuity test. You are missing the disk. I am trying to find it myself.

The small metal disk is a buzzer or sounder. Check if it works with a Signal Generator if you have one. It will sound if you apply a 3KHz Square wave 3 to 4v PtoP.

If it does not it is dead, replace it. If it does then the connections to the disc are broken somewhere and you need to repair that. Be sure you have not turned OFF the buzzer somehow. Some Flukes have that feature.

I fixed my Fluke 87 RMS buzzer by replacing the small "pegs" that make contact between the circuit board and the plastic plate with the piezo disk with small snips of wire (used old thermostat wire). I don't think either original peg was making contact. I did do the test on the circuit board to ensure I had the 3KHz Square wave 3 to 4 volts as stated by Jim Calvert. My meter still had the piezo disk and the plastic strap that holds it in place. The thermostat wire is just the right size to fit in the holes where the pegs were (I broke them off with my finger to remove them). The wires I used were only about 3/16 in. I used needle nose pliers to flatten the ends of the wire after putting it in the plastic, then careful put everything back together. My buzzer stopped working years ago, and it is nice to have it back I couldn't find the conductive pegs anywhere, so I hope my fix holds ups long term. I know my meter is old, but it works great for what I need it to do.

There is a small plastic strip across piezo disk with two small "pegs". These do break with time. The strip can be ordered through Fluke. Not cheap but will restore buzzer.
