Why my SSD link speed is slow?

I have a Fledging Feather M13 512G SSD in my MacBook Pro 2015, it caused unexpected shutdown and restart many times. The MacOS version is 10.14.6. And the speed is low as shown in the attached image. And in the system information, the link width is x4 but the link speed is only 2.5GT/s. What is the problem and how to solve it?

Things I would try is to make sure the drive is not overly full as the wear leveling process could be struggling trying to prevent you from over stressing what few free blocks you do have from being over worn.

Of course you could just backup your data and reformat the drive to see if that helps.

Basically, your drive is too small for the amount of data you are storing. Smaller sized SSD 128~256 GB need about 1/3 of the drive free to work effectively, larger 512 GB ~ 1TB need 1/4 free.

If you can’t get better performance It then sounds like you have a 2.5 GT/s drive not a 5 GT/s drive you where sold. I would return it and get a better drive.

I erased the drive and reinstalled the MacOS Mojave, the same result.

Sounds like you need to return the drive as its not performing as it should.

Check if ccleaner is mac os compatable and check if there’s a ssd defragging tool within mac os and try running those.

SSD's are not like HDD's

SSD's write data directly in blocks and are accessed likewise, they don't encounter fragmentation.

But! a common issue they face an overly full drive so the wear-leveling maintenance routines get aggressive as there is to few free blocks available which it needs to run ahead of the systems need for free space that is not overly worn. Unlike HDD's there is a limit of how many write events a given block can handle so the drive moves your data around so the least used blocks data is moved to the more used blocks to even out the wear.

HDD's write data in tracks and sectors similar as a phonograph record records music so the data can get scattered across the surface causing the head to track across the disk from different tracks that are scattered across the disk to relink them for the system both reading and writing. This is why you often need to defragment a HDD.

That's why I specified one for SSD's, I think it's called something else but I couldn't remember.

完成的

No, nothing that offers anything like HDD defragmentation for a SSD.

How come in windows if you defrag an SSD it detects it as an SSD and does something else rather than damage it?
