Why does my xbox turn off after 1 minute with no display?

I started my xbox one up one day and it only stayed on after a minute, nothing on the display showed up and my controllers refuse to pair with their blinking light showing. Even holding the sync button on the xbox doesn't do anything. My fans are spinning. The only thing that sounds out of place maybe is that the hard drive makes a noise every 20 seconds like it suddenly stopped and started again. I opened it up and removed all dust inside which were minimal amounts. Any ideas?

These usually come with a Seagate Mobile HDD, these commonly go bad after 1-2 years. If it’s making a ticking pattern the hard drive will need to be replaced. One way to confirm it’s the HDD is to just plug in any 2.5” laptop sized hard drive and see if you can get display at least.

Anyone in the future who might have this problem, my hard drive ticked once per second when it was trying to boot. I switched it to a laptop hard drive showed the display and switched it back to my old hard drive and booted up fine, guessing it's a sign to get a new hard drive. Thanks man. You saved my week head ache and a lot of money.
