calculator randomly shutting off and clearing ram
my ti 84 ce plus is randomly restarting and when it turns on it says ram cleared. I remember once opening the battery compartment and putting it back in hoping to restart the calculator.
pls help
the battery was loose it wasnt pushing against the battery connections enough, so i put i tiny amout of fabric in there and now it works

These use a modern LiOn battery, which isn’t known to last long - the modern ones made within the past ~5 years seem to quit after 3-4 years, give or take. Depending on when you got it and how old it is, you could very well have an old battery since the used ones tend to come from former students who don’t want them after they graduate. Try changing the battery and see if you get any better results. Refer to this guide.
As far as finding one your best bet is to get it from TI here (Assumed US) or on Amazon under the part number 3.7L1200SPA. If you aren’t from the US, refer to this link to get it from TI.

Actually im hearing something loose inside the calculator when I shake it . it restarts.
I mean I can try to open it and check, but my screwdriver is missing.
@fegelein3290 Post photos of the inside then. From what I've seen, it's generally the battery at fault due to the market for the TI-84 series.
Why do you think I have one that cost me nothing but needed an inspection and cleanup due to batteries?
